For tutorials this week consider Questions 5 & 6 on page 210 of the text - Listed below:
5. With classmates, use role play to study how a teacher could use active listening in the following situations:
  • A student comes to class in tears
  • Two students come to class, still fighting after a situation that occured on the playground
  • A student sits and daydreams most of the time in class
  • A student puts down another student by saying that her art work looks 'stupid'

6. Role play using 'I messages' the following situations:
  • A student is constantly interrupting the teacher during discussion time
  • A student is caught cheating on a test
  • A student rips pages out of their text book
  • A student digs holes in his desk
  • A student trips other students as they walk up the aisle
  • A student leaves lolly wrappers on the floor under their desk

The following may also be of benefit this week - the Bully Scenario can be used to discuss discipline plan
